Aqua panels or tiles?

Having recently completed another bathroom where the customer chose aqua panels over tiles we thought it would be useful to discuss the panel vs tile debate.

There are so many decisions to make when planning your bathroom refurbishment; materials, colour schemes, bath or no bath. Should you go down the traditional ceramic tiling route, or are shower panels a better option? If you haven’t heard of waterproof bathroom wall panels, where have you been? And if you have, and you think they’re the ugly stuff your Granny had in her bathroom, think again.

Quick and easy to install

A real bonus of opting for shower panels instead of tiles is that, they are quick to install and can be ready to use in just 24 hours. There’s no hanging around for grouting to be applied and then dried before you can hop into the shower - particularly important if you only have one bathroom. Panels can be fitted directly on top of existing tiles, stud walls, wood or even concrete. You’ll see your design take shape at lightning speed.

No grout, no hassle

Tile grout is one of the more common areas targeted by mould, with the potent mix of condensation and moisture in bathrooms providing the perfect environment for it to take hold. With shower panels, however, the on-going fight against mould can be consigned to history, because there is none!

Shower panels are easier to clean

When it comes to cleaning, there’s no need for bleach and scourers to tackle grubby grout as shower wall panels are totally grout-free, require very little attention – the occasional quick wipe down is all that’s needed to keep them clean and in tip-top condition for years to come.

Luxurious finishes

Don’t be mistaken in thinking that the look you can achieve with shower panels is limited. Shower panels have come a long, long way. So whether your taste is for urban chic, classic sophistication, relaxed elegance, or just downright cosy, you can realise your design vision with shower panels instead of tiles.
